Produced in the UNESCO World Heritage City of Aleppo, the Savon d'Alepp also-known as the Hammam Soap or the Aleppo Soap is made in accordance to a 2,000 years old Babylonian recipe that dated back to ancient Hammurabi's time!

It is the ancestor of the more modern olive oil soap or also known as the castile soap. Made with organic olive oil, sea-salt and bay laurel oil, this soap is produced in Syria by the same family who has been making this soap traditionally for the last 200 years. You can find this soap used in most fine hammams across the Middle East. Due to its density and hardness, a soap bar can last for about a month with daily regular use. And it actually float in the tub instead of sinking. Mild and moisturizing, this soap has a luxurious creamy lather and can be used from head-to-toe. Very beneficial for dry and mature skin, soothe eczema and itchy rashes, clears out dandruff and gentle on broken skin. Makes a great shaving soap too!

This soap aged beautifully like fine wine, meaning the older it is the better its quality and the harder it is. People in Aleppo, Syria actually love to brag how they have a 10, 20, 30 year old bar of soap hidden up in their attic awaiting a special occasion.
